Griffin is the first dachshund I added to my 4-legged family. I had never owned a small dog before. After my last rottie died I used to say that I loved my bullmastiffs but I missed the rottie's intensity and "in-your-face" attitude . . . so I got myself a mini wire dachshund!!! I knew when I picked him up at Jen & Frank Eppell's (Brochund MW - NS, Canada) that he was going to be special.

Griffin has a ton of personality. He is the fastest learner I have ever owned and he keeps me on my toes. . . Busy mind in a busy body! Tail wagging all the way! I believe I could teach him anything! He earned his first leg in Earthdog when he was just 10 months old and got his JE title the following year. At only 2 1/2 he had already obtained his Senior title. He is a natural at the sport and I hope he will get his Master Earthdog title one day. His registered name "Griffin Mawr" is Welsh for "The Great Griffin". I think he certainly lives up to his name!

Griffin obtained his championship just after he turned 9 months. That same year he was #5 MW dachshund in Canada, achieving this by being shown on a limited basis and only as a puppy. Griffin success in the breed ring can be attributed to his overall balanced body, good front, nice angulation front and rear, and to his gorgeous head. He moves like a charm and that alone has probably won him many group placements even as a puppy.
